MOUNT PROSPECT - Kenneth "Ken" T. Swedberg, 83, of Mount Prospect for 46 years, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015. Ken was the beloved husband of Phyllis for 62 years; loving father of Gary (Wynne), Ken R. (Louann), Constance (Mike) Harvey, Linda and Barbara; loving grandfather of Jason, Jennifer, Steven, Staci, Kirsten and Matthew; great-grandfather of Jackson, Jaiden and Mayumi. Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed by IBM for over 34 years. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church for many years, where he volunteered mainly with the youth. He also volunteered at the Mount Prospect Conservatory as he loved taking care of flowers. A memorial visitation will occur at 10am on Saturday, January 17, 2015, followed by the service at 11am at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 200 S. Wille St., Mount Prospect, IL 60056 (847-253-0631). In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Ken will be appreciated to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
