Kenneth Weber Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 22, 2025.
Kenneth "Ken" Weber, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 18, 2025, in Chico, California. Born on September 10, 1937, in San Francisco, California, Ken lived a vibrant life filled with friendship, family, and a deep appreciation for sports and the outdoors. Ken had an outgoing personality with a great sense of humor!

He spent his early years in San Francisco, where he attended high school and college. As a young man, Ken taught swimming at Camp Mather in Tuolumne County, earning the affectionate nickname "Whitey." This role reflected both his love of nature and his easy rapport with others. Ken enjoyed a long and successful career in the insurance industry, where he built lasting relationships through his dedication and professionalism. In retirement, he remained socially active through the Green Valley Art Association, golf ranger duties and the SIRS group, where camaraderie and laughter were always present.

He and his beloved wife of 64 years, Sue Weber, spent part of their retirement in Arizona, enjoying golf, art, gardening, and the warmth of desert living before returning to Northern California. Ken especially treasured time at Pine Mountain Lake with family and friends-fishing, golfing, and soaking in the mountain air.

Ken was a devoted husband to Sue and a loving father to Karen Sipich (Jim), Karla Schloemp (Chris), and Mike Weber (Suzanne). He was a proud grandfather to Jordan, Jaime, Jackie, Andrew, Savannah, Hannah, and Luke; and a delighted great-grandfather to Peyton and Austin, with two more great-grandchildren on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Marie Weber; his sister, Barbara Schaefer; and brother-in-law, Marty Schaefer.

A loyal San Francisco Giants fan, sports fanatic and avid golfer-celebrated for a hole-in-one with his son-Ken also enjoyed stained glass work, ceramics, and photography. These creative pursuits added another layer of richness to his already full life. Furthermore, Ken's life was lovingly enhanced by his time spent with his dogs. Most recently, he found joy in sitting in front of the grocery store with dog, Sienna, to greet all the passersby while Sue shopped.

In accordance with his wishes, no memorial service will be held. Donations may be made in his memory to Canine Companions for Independence.

May Ken Weber's memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
