Kennetha Foley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 20 to Mar. 19, 2024.
Kennetha "Kennie" Kirk Foley, 62, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of March 16, 2024. Kennie was born on December 17, 1961, in New Albany, to Kenneth and Jean Kirk. She was a graduate of West Union Attendance Center and earned degrees in elementary education from both Blue Mountain College and the University of Mississippi.

Kennie's life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

Kennie, as an educator, was selfless and devoted, ensuring that none of her students ever went without resources, support, or love. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom, touching the lives of countless students and coworkers within the East Union and New Albany Elementary school communities with her kindness, wisdom, and genuine concern for their well-being.

Kennie, as a friend, was known for going the extra mile to make those she loved feel seen and cared for. She possessed an amazing ability to identify and meet, with effortless grace, the needs of those around her. Her friends have described her as being able to light up any situation with her wonderful meals and tender care.

Kennie, as a wife, shared a beautiful bond with her beloved husband, Terry, for 43 years. Their partnership was marked by love, companionship, and firm faith in Christ, creating a foundation of strength and warmth for their family.

Above all, Kennie took pride in being a mother to her two children, William Kirk Foley (Meghan) and Carrie Foley Eaton (Drew) and a grandmother to her six grandchildren, Stella Ruth Foley, William Deacon Foley, James Atkins Eaton, Charlotte James Foley, Sarah Louise Eaton, and Frances Elisabeth Eaton. Her world revolved around them, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting them, showing up with intention to walk life alongside them and make the road more fun, more joy-filled, and filled to the brim with love.

Kennie is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren and her brothers, Larry Gray Kirk and Michael Lyn Kirk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Jean Kirk, and brother, Talmadge Lee Kirk.

Kennie will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her, but her legacy of love, compassion, and grace will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation will be held at United Funeral Service on Monday, March 18, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A celebration of her life will be held at Center Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 19, with visitation preceding, beginning at 1:00 pm.
