Professor Kent Hart was our legal research instructor. He corrected all my papers one sentence by one sentence. When I was dealing with severe academic anxiety, he was the first person who detected my core issue and gently guided me to go through the difficulty.
Most importantly, he loves God in a highly noble way. He deeply cares about his children's spiritual well being as a father. He respects minority rights as a mainstream legal scholar.
Rest in peace,
Robert Lake

I had the great honor and privilege of working with Kent at the Supreme Court of Nevada. He had not only a brilliant legal mind but also a good heart and a kind soul. Kevin and I will greatly miss you Kent! Our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies go to the Hart family at this time.

Professor Hart was my teacher last semester at SLCC. He was such a genuinely great man. He taught with such passion, care, knowledge, humor, and he always had the best stories and sense of humor. I was so shocked to find out about this devastating tragedy. He was taken so soon from this world. I hope that his family find some sort of comfort in knowing that he touched my life as well as so many others. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to all who had the privilege to know such an upstanding man, especially to his family, I can't even begin to imagine, my deepest and sincere condolences.

I value my associations with Kent. His kind temperament, willing attitude and skillful ability to work across the aisle on potentially divisive issues gave him credibility and respect. He was a great advocate, a true professional and a good friend. My sincere condolences to his wonderful wife and family.

Kent was my teacher at SLCC, and more than that a mentor and a friend. I was at an uncertain time in my life but Kent really made me feel like I mattered, and really saw my potential and helped me to do the same. He never judged people, regardless of the walk of life they came from, and was an example of a truly selfless human being. We could all learn a thing or two from him. I will miss you Kent. I will carry the educational lessons, and the life lessons you taught me, with me forever.

I miss my friend and mentor, Kent! For the past several weeks, I've been reading about how he helped so many others through challenging or uncertain times, offering advice and encouragement and much more. We are blessed to have known and loved him! Now to give back help to his family and continue to support the causes he loved.

I knew Kent as a fellow missionary in Norway in the early 80's. He was known throughout the mission as a solid, hard working and insightful missionary. It is so good to see that his life's work was characterized by compassion and service to his fellow man and family. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

I will always remember Kent as my Young Men's President when I was young. He stands out in my memory as a mentor who consistently encouraged me and helped me explore my interests and my nascent faith. As a 12-year-old boy, I felt he treated me with the respect he would have shown an equal. I'm profoundly grateful for the influence he had on me.
