Kevin Byrnes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 15, 2025.
Kevin Leslie Byrnes, 60, passed away on January 23, 2025, in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania. Born on August 11, 1964, in Paterson, New Jersey, Kevin lived a life defined by dedication and integrity.

He grew up in West Paterson as the eldest of three siblings and enjoyed playing football, baseball, and basketball. Kevin graduated from Passaic Valley High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel in South Carolina. Known for his academic excellence, he received numerous awards throughout his education.

Kevin built a distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry. He began at Schering Plough (later Merck) and spent the last decade of his professional life at Regeneron, where he continued to contribute meaningfully to the field.

A resident of Masthope for over 30 years, Kevin embraced the outdoors and found joy in golfing and hunting. He cherished time with friends at the Summit and Tiki Bar and played golf annually with a close-knit group. He also maintained lifelong bonds with his Citadel K Company classmates. Kevin was also a avid reader and had a large gun collection.

Music was another passion-Kevin especially enjoyed playing the guitar. Whether sharing stories on the golf course or enjoying quiet moments in nature, he valued meaningful connections and lasting friendships.

Kevin is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Grace Byrnes; his brother, Steven Byrnes; his sister, Lisa LeBar; nephews Nicholas and Cody LeBar; niece Gianna LeBar; great-niece Aria LeBar; as well as aunts, an uncle, cousins, and many friends.

Those who knew Kevin remember him as someone who lived by principle-always ready to lend a hand or offer support without hesitation. His generosity and steadfast presence left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Kevin was a unique, one of a kind person.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
