FERRITOR Kevin Edward Ferritor, age 53, of Columbia, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007, unexpectedly at his home. He was born September 15, 1953, in Kansas City, Mo., to Edward "Jigs" and Susan (Marshall) Ferritor, who preceded him in death. On November 9, 2002, in Columbia at the Firestone Baar's Chapel he was married to Michelle Miller. Kevin proudly attended Rockhurst High School in Kansas City and later went on to graduate from Kansas State University with a degree in Architecture. Kevin worked at many firms in the Kansas City area before settling in Columbia in the early 1990's. Most recently, Kevin was the owner/operator of Kevin Ferritor Design, and a staff member of Connell Architecture in Columbia. Kevin worked for seven years at the State of Missouri Division of Design and Construction and has many friends in that office. He was a board member of the Chateau Condominiums and was a past president. Kevin had a great love of architecture, design, sports, politics, jazz, and fine clothing. He worked off and on for many years at Pucketts Menswear. He also shared love of downtown Columbia and while working at Pucketts, made many friends in the downtown shops. He enjoyed MU sports and football tailgating with his family and friends, and debating the finer points of politics. He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Miller), and her family; a special group of brothers and sisters, Brian and Peggy Connell of Columbia, Reed and Brenda Graves of St. Joseph, Fred, Mary and James Schmidt of Chicago, Ill., Dr. Skip Brod of Littleton, Colo., David and Diane Argo of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Gayle Dunivent of Brentwood, Calif., Kenton and Shawna Higgins of Lee's Summit, Walter and Karen Klein of Jefferson City, and Pat McGowan and Daniel Bain of France. A memorial service will be held at Parker Funeral Service in Columbia at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2007. Memorial contributions may be made to Kevin Ferritor Memorial to the Diocese of Jefferson City for the purpose of the new Columbia Catholic High School.
