Kevin Remenap Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 20 to Apr. 21, 2021.
Remenap, Kevin 6/2/1976 - 4/9/2021 Kevin James Remenap (Rem) passed away April 9, 2021; a much loved husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, coach and friend was called home. If you knew Kevin, you liked him; probably loved him. He was kind, friendly, and an all-around good man. Kevin LOVED LIFE! He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 17 years, Molly; children Kelly, Ryan and Kate. Nothing brought Kevin more joy than his kids. His family was his everything, and Dad was his favorite title. Kevin was passionate about education. He spent 17 years at Caledonia High School teaching Chemistry and Leadership. In 2018, Kevin became the Assistant Principal at Thornapple Kellogg High School. Over the course of his career, Kevin changed the lives of students daily. His passion for their well-being and education was limitless and unmatched. He found joy in simple things: playing in his pool with his kids, hunting, fishing, hanging out with family and friends, or cheering on the Detroit Lions. Kevin leaves behind: His parents, Randy and Judie Remenap, sister Lisa (Steve) Avram, brother Dan (Lesa) Remenap, in-laws Randy and Sandy Day, sister-in-law Amy (Brett) Lindner, nephews Kyle and RJ, nieces Maddie, Marlee, Savannah, Kylee and Alyssa, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and truly great friends. Relatives and friends may meet the family, Friday, April 23 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Pius X, 3937 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10am, at St. Pius X, with FR. Stephen Durkee officiating. Reservations for Mass and masks are required. SPXcatholic.org (Represent your favorite team/school in honor of Kevin; casual attire, Kevin hated wearing ties!) Due to current restrictions, please try to visit the family during the walk through visitation. Because seating is limited, we would encourage only family and close friends to attend the service; which will be live streamed via the church Facebook. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the gofundme page at the link below for the needs of the family. gf.me/u/zp3m3c. If the measure of a man is partly the character of the children he raises, then my three years working with Ryan - and the times Kevin volunteered to assist with classroom activities - mark him as a special person, indeed. His own dad Randy taught two of the GVSU Education Leadership courses I took and enjoyed, and he talked often of the love he had for his family . Remenaps, I hope you feel the love that surrounds you right now and how each of you reflects the good that has been passed down to you.

Kevin was a genuinely kind person. Always ready to make you laugh - even if it was at his expense. He was the best dancer at any wedding reception. He will be greatly missed.
