Kirsten Wrisley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 21, 2006.
Kirsten Anne Wrisley passed away Nov. 17, 2006. She was born on Aug. 5, 2002. Kirsten Anne is an extraordinary special needs child who blessed us by sharing four years of her life. Kirsten was born with a rare neurological disorder known as hydranencephaly; she was born "without a brain." Amazingly, Kirsten learned to recognize voices, communicate through sounds and even a few words. She loved walks, watching Clifford, her dogs, coloring and her lollipops.

Kirsten is survived by her mother, Adrienne Wrisley; her grandparents, Rick and Diana Wrisley and her aunt, Stephanie of Lansdale, Pa. and her great-grandparents; Earle and Nancy Hummel of Lock Haven, Pa. and Mahlon and Jean Wrisley of Ulster, Pa.

Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Chalfont United Methodist Church in Chalfont, Pa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the Burlington United Methodist Church in Burlington, Pa. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. followed by services at noon and interment in the family cemetery in Luthers Mills, Pa.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Kirsten Wrisley Hydranencephaly Fund through PNC Bank of a family member.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Although we do not know each other, as a mother of 2, feel such sympathy for the loss of your lovely child. May you be comforted by your memories.
