KRISTINA FECHTER Obituary
Born 1974, died August 22, 2011, after 10 months battling breast cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Len; four beautiful children Benson, Brandon, Blake and Grace Ann; mother Kathleen Reitz; stepfather Jeff Reitz; and father Dave Cain and stepmother Jean Cain; two sisters Kari and Kelli and great- grandfather James Shipman. Kristina, graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, worked in the IT field in years following college and her recent life was dedicated to parenting and proactive advocacy assuring the proper programs for all children with autism. Friends are received at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. on Monday and Tuesday 2 - 4, and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, 400 Hoodridge Dr. in Castle Shannon and burial immediately thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute or the University of Pittsburgh Center for Autism Research, 128 North Craig Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.

My sincere condolescences to everyone who knew and loved Kristina. I have had the pleasure of working with Kristina and her family over the years. She was always a doting mother who always did the most she could for her children. I will keep your family in my prayers.

I never had a chance to meet Kris, but heard alot about her through Dave Cain. She was a very special lady. My condolences to the Fletcher, Reitz and Cain family.

Kris was a strong,smart,but sweet women who was a mother who worked tirerlessly to get the best for her kids. She became my friend and confidant in a little block of time, while waiting for our boys to finish speech.I will miss her and pray for strength for her family.
