Kyle Mills Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 11, 2025.
Kyle Allen Mills passed away on August 6, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on May 14, 1990, in

We remember Kyle Allen Mills-a son, brother, father, grandson, nephew, uncle, friend, teammate, and a man whose presence left a mark on everyone around him.

Kyle was just 35 years old when he passed. While his journey had its share of ups and downs, it also held moments of joy, connection, and creativity.

He was a National Qualifier and State Champion high school wrestler-achievements that spoke to his determination and grit. Wrestling gave him a sense of purpose and pride, and for those who saw him compete, it was clear he had a fire in him.

He is survived by his three beautiful children - Emma (8), Olivia (6), and Gerek (4). Kyle's legacy will live on through them.

He also leaves behind his loving parents, Dani and Laurie, who shaped the man he became with their guidance and care. His siblings - Shannon, Ryan, and Jennifer - will forever hold his memory close, remembering the childhood they shared, the bond between them, and the laughter that always seemed to follow him.

Kyle's grandparents, Virginia, Faye and Don who held a very special place in his heart and were a constant source of wisdom and love.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tom - a hilarious, loving, and creative genius in his own right.

To his 10 nieces and nephews, and to the many cousins, friends, and teammates he grew up with - Kyle was the one who made them laugh the loudest and had the ability to bring joy into any room - that's what many of us will miss the most.

Kyle's personality was magnetic - he could walk into a room and instantly shift the energy. People were drawn to him, not because he tried to impress, but because he was unapologetically himself. As mentioned before, his humor was part of his bigger-than-life personality. He had a way of making people laugh that felt effortless - whether through a quick one-liner, a goofy impression, or just the way he told a story. Even in tense or difficult moments, Kyle could find the absurdity and make people crack a smile.

He was also endlessly inventive. Give him a pile of scraps and he'd build something out of it - something useful, something clever, sometimes even something beautiful. He had an eye for possibility and a hands-on way of bringing it to life. That mix of humor, charm, and creativity made him unforgettable.

Today, we remember Kyle not as a perfect man, but as a vibrant one - funny, resourceful, and full of personality. May he find peace now, and may those who loved him so dearly- especially Emma, Olivia, and Gerek - carry forward the best parts of him.

We love you, Kyle, and we will miss you forever.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kyle a few times several years ago. His fun, energetic, goofy, and contagious personality is what set him apart from others!
I worked with his mom, Laurie for a few years, and all she could ever talk about was Kyle! And when I finally met him, I knew why. He and I laughed when we were together and goofed off, especially around Laurie. Just to tick her off. You could tell there was love all around.
We will miss you, Kyle. Rest in peace.

Back in 2017, I had the privilege of photographing this beautiful family. I remember the joy and love Kyle had for his daughter-it was felt in every moment. My heart aches knowing these sweet babies will grow up without their father. It will always be an honor to have captured these memories for his daughter, preserving their love forever. Prayers to the family during this time of great loss.

Words cannot express the sadness of your loss. I will never forget working at Airlite with you, even on the most stressful days you were there with the brightest smile and infectious laugh. You were one of a kind. Thank you for the joy and laughter and encouragement. I know you are watching over your family. May your best always shine on through the children you loved so much.

Kyle was my favorite person and my rock. I will always love him. He had struggles but always talked about how much he loved his children. I know he is looking at them from Heaven. One of my favorite things about Kyle was that he always knew how to make people smile. No matter the moment he lived in it and made the best out of it.
