Lacey D. Jones

SNOW HILL - Lacey Dean Jones went to be with her Lord Saturday morning Oct. 13, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer. Lacey was born Dec. 31, 1995, and during her 11 years on earth touched numerous people and lives. Lacey was a sixth-grade student at Greene County Middle School and was honored by her peers and teachers last week as the school recognized it as "Lacey Jones Week". The church of which Lacey was a part, Davis Grove Baptist Church, was a place she loved and it meant much to her. Lacey's memory will forever be etched into the minds of all who knew her for the courage she demonstrated in the face of pain and for the faith that she exemplified in God. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 145 Free Gospel Road, Snow Hill, with the Rev. Doug Nalley officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery. Left to cherish Lacey's memory are her parents, Dean and Lisa Ginn Jones; a brother, Levi Jones of the home; maternal grandparents, Winfred and Jeanne Ginn of Snow Hill; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Judy Jones of Snow Hill; her aunts and uncles, Mark Jones and wife, Tanya of Snow Hill, Holly Jones of Snow Hill, Lynette Ginn of Pittsboro and Lana G. Parker and husband, Barry of Bear Creek; and her extended family of great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-9 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the home, 1241 Corbett Town Road, Snow Hill. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Davis Grove Church Building Fund, c/o Irma Edmundson, 4144 Fort Run Road, Snow Hill, NC 28580. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the members and congregation of Free Gospel Church for their willingness to open the doors of their sanctuary for Lacey's service.
