Lana May Scott

Life Long Resident of Burlingame

May 1, 1940-August 12, 2010

(Age 70) Lana May Scott, our adored wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend has been called away from our sides as quietly and peacefully as she lived her life, after a sudden and devastating illness.

Lana was born to Harold and Helen Sagerdahl in 1940. She was the sister of two beloved siblings: Linda Goldman and Gerald Sagerdahl. Lana graduated from Burlingame High School Class of 1958, attended the College of San Mateo, and worked in the insurance industry for many years as an account manager. She was married in 1964 to Gerald Edward Scott, Jr., also a life long resident of Burlingame.

A more kind-hearted person could not be found. Lana was loved by all and could touch any heart with her warm and friendly smile. She was selfless and had so much love for the people in her life. Even in her weakest and most painful moments she would not let anyone know it. Traveling, dining locally, and spending wonderful time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, always made her happy.

She is survived and missed by her husband Gerald Edward Scott, Jr., brother Jerry Sagerdahl and his wife Sarah of Greensboro, NC, son Gerald Edward Scott, III of South San Francisco, daughter Shari Giusti and her husband Michael of Millbrae, her grandchildren Morgan and Scott Giusti, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Crosby & Gray Funeral Home 2 Park Rd, Burlingame

Dear family and co-workers of Lana,
I am one of many clients of Lana who will miss her greatly. Although we never met in person, we talked and e-mailed countless times over the years. She was always so very, very helpful and gracious. When my son started his own business and needed insurance, I referred him to Lana and she was so responsive and helpful to him. I am so shocked and saddened to learn of her sudden passing. My heart goes out to her family; please know that she left such a good impression even on people who didn't have the opportunity to meet her in person. To her co-workers, I know you will all miss her presence among you. My heartfelt condolences to you all. Lana will truly be missed.

Dear Friends and Family of Lana,

I just learned today of her passing. I am very very sorry to receive the terrible news. I have been a happy insurance customer of her's for several years. We would occasionally meet for lunch, and I could tell that Lana had a great heart and was a genuinely nice person - in addition to her being great at her chosen profession. I hope that you are all doing well as you make it through this tough initial time after her passing.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Lana's passing.

Lana was absolutely the best in what she did here at work, and she was always there for her clients and co workers.

She will be missed beyond belief and I am very sorry to have lost such a good friend.

Respectfully,

Ralph Neate, Santa Cruz, California

Jerry,

While I never had the pleasure of meeting your mother, your posts about her always made me smile. She was a brave woman and a fighter til the very end. Obviously, she instilled her gift of humor and laughter into her son. I am grateful to have had the chance to meet you, befriend you and now, to be able to offer comfort and sympathy in your time of need. You have friends in Florida. You are loved. May your mothers travels into God's safe care be speedy and swift. You will forever have an angel on your shoulder now, Jerry. She will always with be with you, watching you from the best view in the house.

With deep regrets and condolences,
Nis and Cher Tushiah.

Though I didn't know her long, I knew her well through her son and "adopted" families. It is nearly impossible to think of a more supportive and kind-hearted person. I know she has passed these traits along, and because of that she will never truly be gone.

My most heart-felt sympathies to everyone else touched by Lana in some way.

I worked with Lana for a long time. She helped me take the best care of our clients. She really cared about her fellow workers, clients and pretty much everybody she came into contact with. Lana will be missed very much.

We talked,
We walked,
for a Moment in Time.
You passed through my life that day and left your mark.
You may never pass my way again,
Or you may stay for a lifetime.
No matter what,
I want to say thank you for the impression you made
that will stay with me for eternity.
I enjoyed the walk,
I enjoyed the talk.
I am blessed for that moment in time.

Jerry and Lana's Family,
Lana's spirit lives on and always will. There is so little one can say when you have lost a loved one who has meant so much to you. Think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched because nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much. Jerry, God Bless and be strong old friend.
