To the Baird Family and friends I would like to extend my belated condolences for your loss. Like many of the kids who grew up in Carmel, I too moved away and am embarrased to say I was not one to keep in touch with those who were a major part of my growing years. Lance and I grew together on the playgrounds of Woods School, Sunset School and Carmel High and admittedly were responsible for various unsolved mischievious activities which occurred over the years. I last saw Lance in 1984 during a school reunion picnic. But the memories of our childhood; Pebble Beach car races, halloween pranks, have jumped to the front of the fond memory line. Thank you for your time and again I am sorry for your loss. Grant Pollock

And if ever I picked up my phone ready to snap, snarl or growl there would be this voice of sunshine produced from the smile on the other end of the line and my day would be brighter. Whether we exchanged endearments, tales of our loved ones, or shared work-related woes and frustrations our conversations always turned humorous and puncutated our days with laughter. During recent times our roles reversed somewhat. I just wish I had conveyed to him how much my life has been enhanced by his friendship and how radiant life at Clawson is because of his presence there. Though he knew I treasured our friendship, I never expressed to him how much. So now I want you, Maggie, Bonnie, Mark and Tracy to know what I have always believed to be true: Lance loved so well because he was loved so much...especially by you. Please know how highly I think of you and how much Dustin, Breana and I value our friendship. Thank you for always welcoming us into your family. We have certainly shared some wonderful memories. We love you all and will never forget Lance, the glue that joins us together. We certainly did not have him long enough. But we did have him long enough to learn how he'd want us to carry on in his memory; striving to be ourselves, to love others and to do our best at all times in all ways. That is some legacy for one extraordinary man to leave. With love to you always. Patti, Dustin and Breana.

Lance-
Treasured times,
that I'll always remember,
Become treasured memories,
that I'll cherish forever.
After the tears are gone,
my heart will heal,
But these last few days,
just don't seem real.
You're in God's heaven,
looking down on pain,
Agony so heavy,
it feels like rain.
My heart is sodden,
from all the tears,
Whispering prayers,
that only God hears.
A prayer to you,
from earth to heaven,
To thank you for all,
the love you've given.
I'll miss you.

Dad-you were the very first man in my life to have my whole heart then you introuduced me to the man who would forever have my heart & soul by marriage. I could never thank you enough for helping me to become the woman I am today. I hope I always made you proud and happy. I am thankful to God that you do not have to suffer anymore. I will always miss you and I will always be your little girl, and I promise you that your grandsons will know you through my memories. I love you Daddy! You will always be my rock and my hero.
