Lanetta M. Belton

Lanetta "Ol'Lady" Marie Belton was born on March 14,1963 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Alstuin Academy where she earned her High School Diploma. She was baptized at First Christ Tabernacle by Reverend Milton Bruson in Chicago, Illinois. She moved from Chicago to Gary, Indiana in 1993. Lanetta lived her life to the fullest and she enjoyed every moment of it. Lanetta enjoyed her life as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. She enjoyed working at the Radisson Hotel in Merrillville, Indiana. On Saturday, May 10, 2025 our sweet beloved Ol' Lady transitioned peacefully surrounded by loving family members and close friends at her home in Merrillville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Mable Belton, both of her sons; Dashawn Belton Sr. and Joseph Belton., and brother; Robert Lamonte. She leaves to cherish her precious memories to 1 daughter Doris Belton,1 daughter-in-law Kendra, 6 bonus kids; Annetta, Curtis, J.B., Xavier, James and Tamika. 2 God sons; Jamal Jones and Joshua Watkins. 8 grandkids; DacQuaneisha (Wilford), Dio'Yanay (Lorenzo Sr.), Dashawn Jr. (Aaliyah), Alexander, Kameron, Caleiya, Kayleb and Dashionna. 4 great-grandkids; Lai'Auni, Aalexis, Lorenzo Jr., and Dashawn III. 3 sisters: LaGretta, Lil Sybil, Quelinda. 1 brother; Brian. Bestfriend; Valarie Hawthorne and special brother; Tom Holokrys and a host of family and friends. Wake Saturday May 24,2025 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Funeral 11:00 a.m. all services at Tree Of Life M.B.
