I did not know my uncle that well and can say I really only met him once. If I had met him before, it was when I was younger and don't remember.
I do remember meeting him at their home, near Jacksonville, in maybe 2017. He and my aunt D seemed happy and enjoyed each other's company. I heard of his work on ships and such and was really interested in hearing some details since I had been in the military. Through the various photos I saw and hearing about the awards and all, I took him to be a hard worker and a man that took pride in his work. He was very friendly and a joy to talk to. I wish I had seen him more frequently, but that's just how things go when we're living our own lives and don't think to make the time and see our families that aren't living right down the street.
I love you, aunt D and am sorry for your loss. Whenever I can get down that way, I will be sure to visit.
RIP, Larry.

Dianne my heart goes out to you and the girls. Larry was such a great guy (Dude) as I would call him. I feel like I am part of the family somewhat with all the help and love that he showed me as a neighbor.
I could never have done it without you Larry, may you rest in peace my dear friend and ladies keep the wonderful memories and times that you had and cherish them
Much love Patsy
