After meeting Lars and having worked with him for a few years our work contract was coming to an end. I gave Lars a nice t shirt that had the 82nd Airborne image on it neatly folded and put it in a good quality, well made cigar box along with some other gadget as a xthank youx token for all of the professional work he did with me. Well Lars wore that t shirt so much that a year later he had it on at a meeting. It was clean and pressed, had wear holes all over it and the images had faded that it was hard to see from 10 feet away. Lars was the very BEST partner I have ever met. He's kindly stern and does the right thing, no matter what. I miss you very much my brother.

Lars and I were in the Army together, in the 82nd Airborne Division. He arrived about a year after me. He was a great guy. He was fun loving and outgoing.
We were soldiers together and later I was his Sargent. One evening we were assigned to Motor Pool Guard duty. and during the inspection I chose him to be the best dress trooper. This was know as making "The Man". He had worked hard to make that spot and it was the only time he ever made it. The guy he beat is probably still mad about it today. Lars was a good trooper.
Lars was a good friend. I have not seen him since 1984, but we spoke on the phone every few years, these last few years we would speak every couple of months or so. We would always end our call with, "Love ya brother."
He had that Green CJ5 Jeep, and he absolutely got his moneys worth out of it. I think it went on adventures every weekend that it wasn't in the shop.
I know Lars was a believer and had a relationship with Jesus. I will see him again one day. We spoke about this a couple of times.
My prayers for family an friends of Lars.

My condolences to all of the Guadalajara family. It was in high school where I met Steele and Lars and the rest of the family. Lars was bigger than life and I could tell he was a protector and ran the family from the kids point of view. I remember him doing a standing backflip, and I was simply wow´d: I couldn´t believe anyone could do that at the time. I went on to attend college and work with his younger brother Steele and I´m so sad to hear of Lars passing. May God grant you all his peace in this time as I know he has me in the past. God bless you all!

Lars was my first true bud after leaving my hearth and home in Rhode Island and entered basic training at Ft Benning . He was in a different platoon and at the end we were made drill corporals for the next basic training cycle which was a month away. That´s when we got to spend time together and became great friends. He went home and brought back his jeep which gave us the freedom to check out the area around Columbus, Ga . Sometimes he made his own trails with that jeep! We even went deer hunting once. He dropped me off at a stand one afternoon and went to another spot a mile or so away and when the sun set he couldn´t figure out where he left me. Well, I started ringing off shots in the night and he finally honed in on me and we had a great laugh. He took me with him to Leesburg for a weekend trip to see his home town. On the way there ,very early in the morning we were stopped by a Florida state police officer for speeding. I didn´t know Lars didn´t have his drivers license. So before the officer got to us he said " give me your license ". I said" it´s a RI license and I don´t look like you". I gave it to him before he approached and he asked us where we were coming from and we told him from basic training. He took my license from Lars and after a short while came back and told us to drive slower and we continued the mission and laughed are way to Leesburg. After being a drill corporal and going through jump school with Lars we both ended up in Ft. Bragg but in different units. I remember bumping into him over a year later at Bragg and we had a great time reminiscing. When I finally got on Facebook a few years ago I looked him up and we messaged back and forth a bit and it was great to hear from him. Unfortunately I left Facebook behind and regret not getting his contact information to call and reminisce some more.
It´s amazing to me how a swamp yanked from RI and a true southern rebel like Lars became good friends but we both loved the woods, hunting, fishing, etc. He even got me to dipping Copenhagen .
After reading his Marla´s loving memories , I too will see him again because I am a citizen of heaven through faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is the only thing that tempers the blow of hearing about his death. But Death is swallowed up in victory through the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Time on this earth is short. We´ll be with the Lord and all the saints for eternity.
Prayers for Lars family and friends. Till we meet again!
I found my basic training yearbook and there´s Lars and my picture right above him. How did that happen?

Lars...
Always my defender/protector and greatest support!!! There for me no matter what and on my side!!!
Steele...he was my antagonizer!!!
In later years though, also my biggest and greatest support!!!
Lars always had a very deep wound in his heart that never healed over losing our Mom. He had a hyper tenderness...it was this tenderness that would shine through all of that masculinity and it gave him his special charm, charisma, and great big smile!!! He was Loved and Liked by so many!!!
Although my heart hurts and it´s hard to do life without Mom, Steele and now Lars...it does give me much peace though, just knowing his heart wound is now healed and whole!...and that there´s a beautiful celebration/reunion that´s happening right now!!! I´m grateful and thankful that we´re not citizens of this earth, but that when we believe, that our true citizenship is in heaven!
I Love you forever Lars!!!!

We came to know Lars when he rented from us while he was working at SRS in Jackson. He was always kind, friendly and considerate to us and every one of the other tenants he met. After we sold the rental property, we would keep in contact with each other, when there was a question or a holiday hello. Rest Easy Lars and Fly High and Proud

I will start by saying I had a very strict mother growing up... What I am going to share will help you to understand. One night my girlfriend and I LouAnn went out on the boat with Lars and several other friends. They told us we were going "gator shining" (it´s a Florida thing). Well, we were only suppose to go out for about an hour and that´s when we RAN OUT OF GAS. No cell phones back then. So, all we could do was drift ashore. That took us about 4 hours. We drifted close enough to shore that Lars thought he was going to jump in. That is exactly what he did. The most important thing in Lars mind was to go call my mom. First before anything... that was how he always was. Thinking of others.. Hus sweet talking to my mom kept me from being on restriction the rest of my life.

Lars, was a very kind friend of mine, it was always fun when he was around. I can always see that blazing, beautiful smile. Great times at the beach, football games, parties, skiing the beach, swim practice, and more.......Thank you for your service! See you on The Other Side!

Growing up next door to Lars was a treat and a new adventure was never far away. He was good at everything! Every sport, hunting, fishing and a little good natured mischief he could always escape with his charm. Lars was a great friend and he will be missed.
