Laura Lee Sims, of Pauls Valley, passed away August 22, 2018 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years.
Laura was born at home on November 30, 1931 in Civit, Oklahoma to Claude and Viola (Saratt) Garner. She was raised in the Civit Community and attended Civit School. She was married to Jack Farmers Sims, Sr. in Ada, Oklahoma on January 12, 1953. Laura loved Quilting, but most special was her love for her grandkids and great grandkids. Garvin County has been her home all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Viola Garner; her husband, Jack Farmer Sims, Sr; one son, Johnny Sims; a granddaughter, Jill Sims; one brother, James Henry Garner and one sister, Jency Viola Garner.
Surviving family include: one son and his wife, Jack F. Sims, Jr. and his wife, Laura Denise Sims, of Wynnewood; daughter in law, Sally Sims, of Maysville; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Amanda, J. C., April, Hunter, Brandi, Kyle and Aaron; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Webb, of Norman; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Kevin Driskill. Interment will be at Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Laura was my best friend.we spent many hours quilting,talking about quilts,exchanging patterns, eating out and shopping for fabric. She was always a joy to be around.I will miss her and treasuremember out friendship always."

The Sims family and Brown family have been friends/family all my life and longer. I remember "Sookie" well and what a sweet heart she was. She had such a great laugh. I know she will be missed by many. My prayers go out to her family.
