1932 - 2012

Laura Walraven, 80, of Kenosha passed away Monday Oct. 8, 2012, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

Laura was born on Feb. 5, 1932, in Iowa, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Maryann (Brink) Ricker. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha. She married Donald Walraven on May 7, 1966, in Waukegan, Ill. She was a homemaker for many years. Her hobbies included cooking, shopping, walking by Lake Michigan, spending holidays with family, and most of all spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Eugene (Valerie) Wood, Allen (Kathy) Wood, Edward (Cindy Usinger) Wood, Brian Walraven and Lisa (John Strange) Walraven all of Kenosha; her brothers, Lloyd (Verna) Ricker of Minnesota, Dwaine (Sally) Ricker of Kenosha; 16 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Walraven, her son, Ray Wood, sisters, Violet and Ruby, and grandchildren, Raymond Wood III and Ashley Wood.

A visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 12, 2012, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 9-11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
