Laurance Williamson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2025.

Laurance Alexander Williamson Jr. "Larry" of Brooker, FL passed away on Sunday, July 27th 2025. Larry was born in Long Island, New York on November 26th 1959 to Laurance Alexander Williamson and Freda Mae Williamson, which precede him in death along with his sister, Alexis Keir and nephew Anthony Martin Jr.

Larry left behind 2 sisters, Karen (Jon) and Cheryl Fowler (Darrell) and 1 brother Billy Williamson (Tobi) along with many nieces and nephews. Curren Martin, Alisha Martin, Sula, Heather Johnson (Byron) Mallory and Ayden, Brandy Hines, Brennan and Reece, Grant Martin, Holly Lisenby, Tristan and Trey, Ian Fleischmann (Naomi), Wil Williamson, Kamryn Williamson, Reece.

As a young man Larry joined and served in the Peace Corps and got to travel to many places that were like heaven to him as he loved to surf. His favorite was Honduras and ended up moving there for a while. Once Larry returned to Gainesville he became an EMT for a short period of time until his parents bought a large farm with a package store attached in Brooker, FL and he came home to help his parents with farming. Larry was a man who would give you the shirt off his back though he didn't have much to give. He had a laugh that you would just laugh at because of his. He loved all kids but would keep his distance because he had no clue what to do. His eyes and smile could light up a room. Not seeing Larry sitting in his chair by the road, waving to people is going to bring an emptiness to many.

In loving memory of Larry a bench will be placed there in honor of him and a celebration of his life will be held at the Williamson Farm on Saturday, August 16th at Noon.
