April 26, 1937 - June 5th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Pop aka Captain LaLa, Uncle Lawrence, Daddy O, the Hoboken legend born and raised who has gained his wings and joined the heavens. He was the most selfless and loving human being with the biggest heart and his impact on our lives will never be forgotten. As an amazing father, brother, son, husband, friend and the patriarch of the Wallington family, he had the biggest heart imaginable. His dedication as a fire captain for the Hoboken Fire Department for 37 years was unmatched, and he leaves behind an incredible legacy of service and bravery. Pop, we will miss you dearly, but we take comfort in knowing that you are now at peace in the arms of the angels. Your memory will live on forever, and your kindness, courage, resilience and warmth will continue to inspire us all. Rest in eternal peace, our dear angel. To say that you will be missed would be an understatement. Rest easy Captain -There will always be an England.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Anna and John, his brothers Francis John and Bernard and his sisters Marie and Helen and his son John who recently passed in January. He is survived by his wife Frances, his daughter Dana and son -in-law Giovanni, his son Jimmy and daughter-in-law Nancy. Along with his step children Donna, Artie and Keith. His grandchildren Matteo, Alexie,Tyler,Alyssa, Samantha and great granddaughter Avery. He also has numerous nieces and nephews who adored him and countless friends.
