Leah Rose Taylor Davis Goodman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 1, 2025.
Leah Rose Taylor Davis Goodman passed away on April 14, 2025 at the age of ninety-seven, in Bellingham, Washington, after a richly-lived life of service and compassion. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 615 Hollow Way, Nevada City, California.

Leah was born on March 6, 1928 in Red Mesa, Colorado, to Leo and Stella Taylor. With seven older brothers (and one younger brother), she was welcomed into this world with the school bell ringing heard throughout the small community announcing the birth of a girl after all those boys. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Education and married John Riggs Davis. They moved to Lake of the Pines, California, in 1971. They were the proud parents of ten children. John passed away in 1975, leaving Leah to raise their children.

In 1987, Leah married Marv Goodman (died in 2014) who had a daughter Shelley (died in 2025). Leah lived a life of helping others with her strong faith in Jesus Christ. She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, reading, and family. She was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Leah is survived by her ten children John (Kenda), Becky, Eric (Carol Ann), Stephanie (Joe Pratt), Jennifer (Todd McCleve), Pamella (Mark Moore), Jeffrey (Diana), Angela (Jeff Powell), Rodney (Ruth) and Corey (Amanda), fifty-five grandchildren, ninety-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her legacy of love and faith will last forever. Leah is happy to be reunited with her husband after his accidental death fifty years ago. We love you, Mother.

From Richard and Rosalie Plummer please accept our condolences for your loss of a great mom. Your mom is a strong spirit. We enjoyed having her ride with us to the Sacramento Temple for two years most every Friday to serve on the Friday Mid Shift. There was a void in our car after she needed to give up her service in the temple. We are now serving a mission in the Philippine and feel sad we will not be able to attend the celebration of her life. May the Lord bless and comfort you.
