Leanna Chandler

Chandler, Leanna Ann Arbor, MI Monday, November 13, 2007, Leanna Chandler (known as Antie for many) passed away in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the age of 88. She worked hard until her retirement a few years ago. A life long legacy was her inspiring, and chastising her brothers and sisters children and grandchildren saying "I helped to raise all of you". Born in Tunica, Mississippi, she was born to Earnest McEwen Sr. and Gussi Anderson on July 21, 1919. She was married to George Chandler of Meridian, Mississippi, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are parents, brothers (Earnest McEwen Jr. and Robert Lee McEwen), sister-n-laws (Ruby McEwen and Christine McEwen), step son (Billy Earl Chandler) and nephew (Jackye LeeTorrey McEwen). Survivors include: brother; Ollie McEwen (Dorcus) of Ypsilanti, MI, sisters; Barbara Kimbell (Dewitt), Bonnie Lacy (Carl) of Memphis Tenn, Cheryl Jeffries (Avant) of Holly Springs, MS, one sister-n-law Mildred McEwen of Ann Arbor, step daughter; Judy Johns (Will) of Meridian, MS, two step grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Monday, November 19th from 4-8 p.m. at C & H Community Home for Funerals, 411 S. Adams St, Ypsilanti, MI . Family hour will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 900 John A. Woods Dr., Ann Arbor, MI on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. and Funeral Service immediately following at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at United Memorial Gardens.
