He was born Feb. 10, 1912, at RR Herndon, a son of the late Penrose and Ida Kratzer Klinger. He was married to the former Marjorie L. Lehman.
He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign and World War II Victory medals.
Mr. Klinger was employed as a plasterer.
He was a member of Alvin Long American Legion Post 504, Mandata.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Fredrick Klinger of Globe, Ariz., Randall Klinger of RR Herndon, Thomas Klinger of Selinsgrove and James Klinger of RR Dalmatia; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rebecca and Gary Wynn of Dalmatia and Suzanna Oldt of Lewisburg; one sister, Bernice Yohe of Lewisburg; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ Church, Urban, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 by the Rev. Amy Schultz.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ Church, Herndon, PA 17830, or Nottingham Village, Strawbridge Road, Northumberland, PA 17857.
The James A. Reed Funeral Home, Chestnut and Market streets, Pillow, is in charge of arrangements.
