I loved you so much Lei and I will miss spending time with you - so will Alicia and Warren. What I got from our relationship was peace. We would spend hours visiting and relaxing, engaged in conversation or a good movie. We spent time shopping, knitting, sharing meals, and sipping coffee. Whatever we were doing we were never rushed or interrupted by phone calls. We had eachother's full attention and I liked that. When we made plans, we followed through and never made excuses or backed out. When I visited you in your home, you greeted me as if you were waiting for me in anticipation. I miss your laughter - we laughed a lot together. I could trust you and count on you, more than I could anyone else. You were not just my sister, you were my friend, and I will miss you. Rest in peace my beautiful, beautiful, sister.

I will never forget what you have done for my life. You have taught me how to hold my head high by teaching me the art of hula..I remember my first class in 2004 I was so scared and so shy yet you taught me that just because I was a big girl I could be just as pretty and graceful as the rest. Thank you so much for caring for us and teaching us what you know. I am so honored to have been introduced to you and becoming a major part of my life. Thank you Auntie Lei I will treasure you forever.

I've known Lei for several years as a fellow breast cancer survivor. I'm a volunteer at the Kaiser Oncology unit and I was honored to be able to talk to Lei and help her while she was going through recent cancer treatments. I enjoyed meeting many of her family and friends as they kept her company during treatments. I will certainly miss her great smile and laughter but I know we will meet again in heaven. My sincere sympathy to Max and all of her family.

Kaua'i will not be the same without Lei. Just this past October, she and I had a chance to dance hula in the courtyard of Mokihana and also at the Tiki Lounge at the new resort in Kapa'a. She introduced me to many of her local friends. Her life celebration yesterday was filled with loving people. It was wonderful to see so many people who love Lei and Max. Much aloha to Max and all of Lei's beautiful family, Uncle Frank

I will always remember Lei............
that smile that lit up a room, those
beautiful green eyes, and her warm and
loving personality. I met her when she
came to live with the Parigi's in the
70's, and we kept in touch all of these
years. I will miss her emails & jokes,
and will always carry her in my heart.
To Aunt Patsy, Max, Hayden & Harli, and
all of Lei's family - I understand your
loss....nobody treasured family like
she did. Lei loved with all of her
heart & soul, and her loyalty was im-
measureable. Thank God for memories,
as we can all hold onto Lei that way.

We have known and loved this young Hawaiian Lady for many years. She beat cancer once and did alot of Relay For Life walks at the Cowlitz Fair Grounds. Dear beloved cousin Lei,
There aren't enough words to express how much I love you and how much I will miss you. The time that you lived with us in New Jersey was a magical time. You were such a wonderful, fun loving , warm, caring (and the list goes on) woman. I can remember you going into my parents room and playing that darn Roberta Flack record over and over again! It makes me smile to think about it. We lived 3000 miles apart but we were very close and we knew we were there for one another. You came out when both my parents passed and it meant the world to us all. I know you are with them and your Dad and Michael. At peace.
You will be truly missed by the many many people who were lucky enough to know you. You touched so many lives.
Thank you for being my cousin and showing me how wonderful life can be.

Have you ever had a best friend
one that you held dear
Someone who shares the Sunshine
the laughter, sorrow, tears
You may not see them everyday
or maybe not for years
But when you get together
lost time just disappears
Those times are taken from us
if only for awhile
God decided it was time to join him
No more suffering, pain or tears
If I had gone before you
standing at Heavens door
I would say how proud I've been to know you

Lei, It was 1962 when I stood in your yard waiting with your dad with anticipation of you and your family moving to your new home across the street from me. We lauphed about Ramona being so excited to finally meet you that she was dancing around you. You and I spent a life time together. Playing,(as kids) dancing,(as teens)and even sisters,(as adults). Meeting Max at our wedding(1972) and walking down the idle as my maid of honor and Max as our best man, he turned to you walking up the idle and said "I'm never letting you go"! Almost a year later Mike and I stood at your wedding. So many good memories. As our families grow we enjoyed the good and bad together. Life won't be the same now. You gave me a life time of incouragement and Love. As we talked about, I am so very sorry for Max's and your mom's pain. They are in my thoughts and prayers. Lei, I will always keep you with me close to my heart. Love ya sis,

Lei was loved and admired. She will be missed greatly.
She seemed strong and resilient. Perhaps that is why this loss was so shocking.
Lei was a matriarch without being a mother. She often led her eight siblings. Max and Lei’s home was many times the place of family celebrations. Lei had strong love and strong opinions. She was well spoken and articulate in sharing those opinions.
She was also a leader in keeping the Hawaiian culture alive for herself and her family. Her leadership there will live on.
I miss her already and my heart bleeds for all who had the good fortune to know and love her.
