Leithia Rogers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 27, 2024.
Leithia Ellen (Asuncion) Rogers passed away quietly in the early morning hours of November 19, 2024, with her signature elegance and beauty. Leithia had just celebrated her 57th birthday on November 8.

Originally from West Hartford CT, Lee attended Northwest Catholic High School and earned her bachelor's degree at Boston College. Lee continued to enjoy Boston after college, where she loved connecting with friends and steadfastly cheering on her beloved New England sports teams -- the Celtics, the Bruins, and the Red Sox. Lee later traded Boston for New York City and began a life-long career at French Connection UK where she quickly became a trusted colleague and close friend to many.

It was not long before Stuart Rogers swept Lee off her feet, and the two began a whirlwind romance, leading to a 24-year marriage and two amazing children, Piper (21) and Tucker (18). Everyone who connected with Lee knew how she adored her husband and children. She referred to Stuart as "the best decision I ever made" and beamed with pride and joy whenever she spoke of Piper or Tucker. Her children were always Lee's greatest concern, her proudest accomplishment. and her deepest love. Stuart, Piper, and Tucker truly completed Lee and fulfilled her every dream and desire.

Lee was kind, caring, considerate, dedicated, and funny. She had a smile brighter than any, and she lit up every room with her energy. An accomplished athlete, Lee completed many 5Ks, 10Ks, half-marathons, and marathons and inspired others to join in on her runs. Lee was a devoted sister and a loyal friend. She was known to open her home -- whether in New York City or Litchfield, CT -- at a moment's notice to share good times with cherished friends and family. With great pride in being "the favorite and the coolest aunt," Auntie LeeLee made every niece and nephew feel extra-special.

Lee is predeceased by her beloved father, Celedonio M. Asuncion, M.D. In addition to her husband Stuart Rogers and her children Piper and Tucker, Lee is survived by her mother Katherine M. Asuncion of West Hartford, her brothers and spouses, Christopher Asuncion-Haynes and husband Martin of North Carolina, Keith Asuncion and wife Cherry of England, and her sister and best friend, Stacy Asuncion McBride and husband John of Pennsylvania. She will be missed by her brother-in-law, Steven Rogers, and sister-in-law, Susan Bailey and husband Roy. Auntie LeeLee will forever be remembered by her nieces and nephews, Grace and Lily, Liam and Riley, William and Sarah, Jillian and Chelsea.

Leithia ... to know her is to love her. We spent so little time together and yet she welcomed me into her heart and into her world as though we´d been friends forever.
Lee and Stu created two gorgeous children who are shining so brightly in this world. Like the light in Leithia´s smile. I´ve always been touched by her warmth and her glee at having fun with her friends and her family. Showing us how much power there is in just being together. We miss you so much, Leithia. Keep showing us your light. It will make it all so much easier.
The photos are from the party she threw for Stewie´s birthday last February 2024. What a gift. Thank you

I met Leithia thru her husband Stuart. They were a wonderful couple who loved each other very much! I met Leithia for the first time when they came to Cape Cod for a visit and stayed with me at my home. Lee had just given
Birth to Piper maybe 6 weeks prior. She was a wonderful Mother to both her children and a loving wife to Stu. Her passing at such a young age saddens me beyond words. I am so happy that Lee and Stu had 24 beautiful years together. Lee will be greatly missed by so many. The World was lucky to have her for
57 years but now heaven will be a more beautiful place as Lee graces the Lord in his home.
Stu, Piper and Tucker...my deepest sympathy to you all. Lee watches over you from heaven so know she is right there with you.
Love to you all...

Oh noooooo. So sad to learn this news. I absolutely adored Lethia! We worked together at m silver associates and partied alot after work! What a smiley soul. I loved seeing her life unfold on Facebook. She was so proud of her husband and children. God rest her sweet soul. Deepest condolences from the Patty and Christian harper family.

Lee and Stu welcomed not only my husband into her home in Litchfield, but invited my whole family to come over to enjoy the pool, Stu's Tiki bar and pool shenanigans. Lee and I were on the side of the pool as Stu and Allan used the wooden stump to dive into the pool where the round tube was. Both of them were diving into the inner circle of the tube. Lee and I shared stories of our husbands. We instantly saw how similar our husbands were and how similar we were to each other sharing stories of our daughters and sons. With each dive the friendship was made. It was the first time meeting her and her incredible family that we knew we had found amazing people with huge hearts and a zest for life! That was the first of many fun pool times together that were shared.

I met Leithia at the YMCA in 2001. It was my first position as an Early Childhood teacher. Her baby girl and shining star Piper was in the infant toddler. I was so blessed to be a part of their lives. My prayers go out to Stew, Piper, Tucker and the entire family. She was a bright light in this world. SIP Leithia (Lei)
