Lenora Susie Dover, 102, passed away in Houston, Texas on December 28, 2017. A longtime resident of San Angelo, Susie moved to Houston in January, 2008 to be near her son and his family.

Susie was born on a cotton farm in Concho County, Texas on December 19, 1915. In 1936 she attended San Angelo Business College, and the following year she married Wiley Wade Dover in Abilene, Texas. She began a government career in 1939 with the Work Projects Administration in Abilene, Texas. Later she worked for the U.S. Army, Veterans Administration, and at Goodfellow Air Force Base. Her retirement in 1973 culminated a 34 year career.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Oscar and Mary Etta Cape, her husband, two brothers, three sisters, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Peggy Jeanne Mackey Dover. She is survived by son, Wiley Wade Dover, Jr. and wife Judy of Houston, Texas, and by three grandchildren and their spouses, and by six great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at the Christoval Cemetery on January 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a donation to Meals on Wheels is suggested.

Our sympathy to Susie's family. I was blessed to have been sorority friends with Susie for many years while she lived in San Angelo. Shared many wonderful times with her. Beautiful lady and gracious friend.
