LENORA WILLENE VAUGHAN, 89, went to be with the Lord January 25, 2007. She was born on December 31, 1917 in Victoria Texas to William Bias and Hettie Ruebush Garrett. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd A. Vaughan, three sisters, and four brothers. She is survived by her son Floyd Dennis Vaughan and wife Sandra, daughter Sherry Vaughan Smith and husband Jim R., grandchildren Kathy Dupuy of Austin and husband Stuart, Tracey Smith of Houston, Jim Smith Jr. and wife Jaci, and great grandchildren Grace, Kaitlyn, James, and Jordan Dupuy of Austin, and Savannah and Jimmy Smith of Houston, plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend known for her keen wit. She began teaching Sunday School at the age of 18 and continued for 67 years; and was ready to go home to Jesus and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Wimberley's Building Fund, or to your favorite charity. A special thank you to her caregivers Mary Cox and Rose Maeker. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the funeral home from 6 to 8pm. A chapel service will be held Monday, January 29, 2007 at 10:30 in the funeral home's Chapel of Angels with interment following at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
