Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 25, 2003.
LA CLAIRE _ It is with great sadness that the family of Leo La Claire announces his sudden passing on Monday, September 22, 2003 at the age of 50. Leo was a devoted husband and father who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. He was a warm and caring person and family life was everything to him. His sons wanted to be around him as much as possible. As the youngest brother of a large family, he crafted his skills as a storyteller at a very young age and continued to entertain everyone at family gatherings. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Peggy (Wahl); and his two sons, Ryan (fiancee Jodi Jeanson) and Christopher, all of Saskatoon. He also leave to mourn his passing his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eleanor and Peter Wahl; his sister-in-law, Sharon Wahl of Vancouver, BC; his three brothers, Garry (Linda) of Mission, BC, Dennis (Audrey) of Sorrento, BC and Raymond (Linda) of Surrey, BC; his five sisters, Luella Wood of High Prairie, AB, Dianne Paradis of Saskatoon, Marylea (Dale) Martin of Mississauga, ON, Janise (Les) Brace of Saskatoon and Gayle La Claire of High Prairie, AB; his aunts and uncles, Louis and Maizie La Claire, Ed and Lucille La Claire and Cliff and Margaret La Claire, all of Shellbrook, Lucille Miller of Mesa, AZ and Anne Blier of Ottawa, ON; and many nieces and nephews. At the family's request, there will be no funeral service. The viewing will be on Friday, September 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Saskatoon Funeral Home chapel (338-4th Avenue North). This will be followed by a Celebration of Leo's Life beginning at 2:00 p.m. to be held at the home of Les and Janise Brace (218 Franklin Place). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME, 244-5577.
