Mr. Leon Allen Estep

Mr. Leon Allen Estep, age 82, of Lavonia, GA, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at his home. Born April 22, 1935 in Mt. Jackson, VA, he was the son of the late John Cletus and Anna Mary Hopewell Estep. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Estep retired from U. S. Law Enforcement as an ATF Agent and he also served as a Virginia State Police Officer. Family members include his wife, Helen Rinker Estep; son and daughters-in-law, Mike Estep and Laura of Buford and Jeff Estep and Carol of Marietta; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Stanley and Stan of Augusta; grandchildren, Nicholas Estep and Hannah, Drew Estep and Erin, Jennifer Stanley, Caroline Stanley, Meredith Stanley, Kelli Estep, and Jae Estep; great-grandchildren, Blake Estep, Justice Estep, and Caleb Estep. He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Middleton. Memorial services will be held at four o'clock Sunday, February 4, 2018 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 4pm Sunday. A reception will follow the service at the Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 4041 GA 17 Eastanollee, GA 30538.
