Leon Frederick Hansen, 69, of Lake Wales, Fla., was born on Aug. 17, 1946, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Raymond P. and Myrtle J. (Schlensig) Hansen. He grew up in Missouri Valley, Iowa, living throughout the Midwest and Iowa before moving to Lake Wales.

Leon graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He held a bachelor's degree in sacred literature from Midwestern School of Evangelism in Ottumwa, Iowa, a bachelor's degree in accounting, business and management from Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, Iowa, and a Master of Arts degree in business, management, marketing and related support from Bellevue University, Bellevue, Neb.

He was a lifelong tax preparer, owning and operating H&R Block franchises in Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota, before later working as a CPA in Nebraska, Iowa and Florida. At the time of his passing, he was the owner and president of Corporation Partnership & LLC Advisors Inc. He was a member of the Winter Haven Christian Church in Winter Haven, Fla., where he was a generous supporter of youth and children's ministries and where he is remembered for his singing, humor and neckties. Leon loved baseball, fishing, cooking and taking cruises.

Leon is survived by his wife, Kandice E. Hansen; daughters, LeAnn Hughes (Doug), of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Lori Cottrell, of Harvard, Neb., Lucy Hansen, of Harvard, Neb.; son, Fred (Cindy) Hansen, of Rochester, Minn.; sister, Christina Hansen, of Winter Haven, Fla.; stepdaughters, Jennifer Collier and Christin Livermore (Duane), both of Missouri Valley, Iowa; seven grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at the Winter Haven Christian Church, Winter Haven, Fla., with Pastor James Reed officiating. Cremation services were rendered by Cremation Services of Mid Florida.
