Kia ora.
My father Walter Stembridge, from Pukekohe,, introduced me to Leon.
I only heard today, that Leon passed away.
I live in Whanganui, and play Irish music with a man called John, who plays Bass.

As a young teacher Leon taught me 6th form biology at Rangitikei College and Ray played in the Marton Old Boys Rugby team with him. Our home town connections were renewed when our sons joined Lindisfarne College and we enjoyed our many chats with Leon. His contribution to Lindisfarne is well recognised. My prayers are with his family at this saddest of times Jacky Stafford
