Leonard J. Tyburski, 71, of Monessen, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, in UPMC Shadyside. Born in New Eagle on Feb. 20, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Pacak Tyburski. He retired from Detroit Public School System as Dean of Students and was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. He graduated from California University of Pa. and obtained his master's degree from Wayne State. He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Horn of Ocala, Fla., and Kim Tyburski of Seattle, Wash. Friends will be received 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen, http://www.billicksfuneralhome.com. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery.

I remembered him as my biology teacher at age 13 at Mackenzie High School he was a wonderful and kind man remember his family in our prayers

I was a student of Mr. Tyberski. I credit him for saving my life. I wanted to kill myself in highschool and he got me the help I needed to make it thru. I'm truly sorry for all that his daughters went through. My they have peace.
