I knew Leonid through early days of refugee micro enterprise work, back in 1998, 1999. Though we would meet in person only here and there, I felt close to him - maybe our shared Eastern European roots or immigrant experience connected us.
Leonid had such a life energy and drive that his death came as a shock and surprise.
Leonid will be missed by many.

I first met Leonid over 13 years ago when I began working with the NYC Business Solutions Bronx Center. Leonid was instrumental in the successful processing of our customers' loans. He was quite engaging, hospitable and customer focused, making a positive impact on those served by the Accompany Capital then Business Center for New Americans (BCNA) team. Leonid and the BCNA team treated me like a member of their team as I would often times do office hours with them and he was quite accommodating, ensuring that I had everything to my disposal to have a successful day.
As the years progressed, he would share nuggets of his experience and expertise in financing. His passion and enthusiasm for positively impacting the small business community were infectious and once you're around him, you couldn't do otherwise.
In the last week of June, Leonid and I discussed strategies to strengthen the partnership between Accompany Capital and the NYC Business Solutions Bronx Center to more effectively serve our customers in the second half of 2023. However, a week later as I was waiting for a follow up correspondence from him, I got the news of his passing. This news was totally unexpected and I was really saddened to receive it.
Leonid has left an indelible impression on all of us who knew and worked with him.
Sincere condolences to his immediate family, work family and friends. Gone but will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in peace.

Leonid is greatly missed. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had him as my supervisor for seven years. His unwavering passion for both life and work was truly infectious. He had an unmatched dedication to our mission at Accompany Capital.

One of the things that Leonid detested most was witnessing indifference or half-hearted efforts. He consistently expected nothing less than wholehearted commitment from those around him.
What set him apart was his ability to earn respect not through authority, but through his genuine compassion and empathy. He led by example, never requesting anyone to do something he wouldn't do himself.

Since his passing, not a day has gone by where I haven't thought to myself, "What would Leonid say or think about this?" I miss him dearly as a colleague and friend.

My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

One of the traits I most admired about Leonid--beyond his depth of expertise and dedication to service--was his uncanny ability to make everyone around him feel like an old friend. He was welcoming personified. May his memory live on as an inspiration to us all, and offer solace to his family and friends.

My first interaction with Leonid predates my employment with Accompany Capital. I was working for NYC Business Solutions and BCNA/Accompany Capital was one of our lending partners. Leonid was always available to provide updates on the leads I sent. When a loan officer position opened up, it was Leonid who recommended I should apply. Without his recommendation (and possibly the good word he put in for me), I would have not have been here. I thank Leonid for the time he dedicated to us and helping us getting our work done. He was available at almost any hour of the day. Whenever I felt I was working very late, it turned out Leonid was also still working. I will miss Leonid's enthusiasm, sense of humor, passion, and his workaholic nature because I also share the same characteristics when it comes to Accompany Capital. Thank you, Leonid, for everything you've done for me and for all of the businesses you've assisted directly and indirectly.

Every interaction with Leonid was delightful - even if we were working on resolving something unpleasant, he would find humor in it. I don't think I had a call with him that didn't involve laughter. It was always clear that he loved the work he did and that he truly connected with the people he was helping. When I met him in person at conferences, he was always a joyful presence and that is the memory I hold onto. I am thinking of his family, friends, and coworkers and wish them all the peace and healing.

It's impossible to believe that Leonid is gone. He was one of the most positive, energetic, funny and kind people and at the same time he was always very professional. After initially getting to know him through business relationship, we became good friends and I will miss him.

The first time I met Leonid was for my job interview at Accompany Capital and I remember him being so passionate about helping small business owners and using technology to address some of the challenges with our clients. The last time I met him was at the OFN Conference in Chicago and am so glad that I got to spend some time with him before he was going to say a final good bye to us.

Remembering Leonid today - one of the first people I met when I joined the board at then BCNA. His warm smile and "can-do" attitude were infectious. He cared deeply about his work and the people he helped. He took a genuine interest in everyone, understanding the impact he could make.

I'm heartbroken by his passing. I miss his kindness and his presence. Leonid, you made a difference in so many lives, including mine. Rest in peace, dear friend.

On behalf of owners and staff of Kingsway Medispa we express our deepest condolences to the family of Leonid. For the short period that we have known Leonid, he expressed so much passion for helping with our new business, he went out of his way to help us and continued supporting us with any business questions we had. He was such a pleasure to work with. Our prayers are with his family. Let his soul rest in peace.

Leonid was one of the first people I met at Accompany Capital during the interview process. He immediately made me feel welcome and brought a smile to my face. I wish I could have known him for years instead of months. He is deeply missed by everyone he worked with.

One of Leonid's favorite things was the photo that we took of our Starting Your On Business class. These classes have trained hundreds of immigrants and Refugees. Leonid with his photographer eye would make sure each class was photographed. He also took the time to print and present each certificate. I will truly miss his commitment. This was our last class before Covid.

I knew Leonid through his work. As a fellow ORR grantee in the early years, he was helpful and instrumental in sharing his learnings to the broader group to help build an industry. He did this with knowledge, caring and a joy for the clients he helped. He believed deeply in the work he did and stood side by side with Yanki to not only build an organization to help diverse businesses in NYC grow and expand but to share that with a broader group. A life well lived; he will be missed.

In 2022, the Opportunity Finance Network team had the privilege of seeing Leonid's impact first-hand during a visit to NYC before our annual conference. It was so inspiring to see Accompany Capital's work on the ground, and now that experience takes on extra special meaning for us.

I met Leonid in a "BCNA" staff meeting. He was always creative, full of new ideas, and very respectful of his colleagues.

I still can´t believe he is gone.

Leonid has been a role model of selflessness for me. He´s been there since I met him through my work with HFLS but we continued to stay in touch after and he´s played a huge role in my professional life. More than he probably realized.

I still can´t believe he is gone and I will miss him.
