I still miss Leslie so much! Before Covid shut down Curves, I always saw her working out with me. We would discuss the state of the world (lots to talk about there) and our children (Anna always doing better than my Ben). Now, Curves is closed and that precious memory is all I have of her, but I can still hear her wisdom and her laughter. May her family know that I hold you in my prayers everytime I drive or walk by your home. May God's peace be with you in this time of remembrance. Janet Hellner-Burris

I think of Leslie everytime I drive by her street and as I do so, I remember her husband and children in my prayers. After the Tree of Life tragedy last year, I longed to talk with Leslie about it. In some ways, I am grateful that she was spared that horror, but I know her wisdom and strength would have helped me and so many others for that is the kind of person she was. I have not forgotten the call at Leslie's service to continue her good works. Everytime I am with the Jewish Community Center and the new inter-faith collation that is growing in response to the Tree of Life tragedy, I do so in memory of Leslie. She lives in my heart.

Leslie was always kind and encouraging to everyone, particularly to young scholars like myself when I was entering the discipline of Political Science. In her leadership role in the Society of Greek Political Thought as well as in the Politics, Literature, and Film section, she always fair, thoughtful, and insightful in her comments and writings. She will be remembered with great affection and respect from her colleagues in Political Science. Our sincerest condolences to Charlie and the rest of her family.

Leslie and I raised are children together. She was a source of comfort and encouragement for me as we worked out at Curves and talked about our kids. Recently I asked her questions about the Jewish holidays and was moved by her devotion to her faith. We will continue to hold Anna, her dad and all the family in our prayers through this heartbreaking time. Rev. Janet and Steve Hellner -Burris
