I met Les back in 1982 when he bought a German Shepherd off me. He offered me a position in L.Texas Petroleum Houston as Group Insurance Manager, where I worked for 18 months before returning to UK. He lived a lavish lifestyle, owning a lovely mansion, company Beechcraft King Air, and Rolls Royce Silver Spirit. He was the most facinating story teller, recalling his escape from Angola by stealing a plane among so many other things while enjoying a glass of his favourite wine, Louis Jadot. A lovely guy, hugely intelligent, who remained down to earth and lived his life to the full. I never had chance to thank you for all you did.

I met Les Texas shortly after I moved to Houston in 2006, being and Geologist and Engineer we worked together on several of his projects as well as his own production. He always had some great stories! He was a very genuine person and loved to fly. I used to talk to him several times a week, though less when he moved to Brenham then Freer. I shall miss him, he was a great friend and a colleague.

Always energetic, fiercely independent, creative and compassionate.
One of the last great oil wildcats. Will miss you Les. Rest in peace in heaven.
