A Remembrance

A devoted son to his mother
An always caring, attentive brother
A soulmate to his sweetheart wife
Whom he cherished all his life.
The best of fathers to us five
Who taught us how to swim and drive.
A proud GungGung so happy to see
Five grandchildren join the family.
Relatives and friends, he loved them truly
He gave himself to them so fully.
He served his country in World War Two
Then he served the people of Oahu.
A doctor who tirelessly helped the ill
Without regard if they could pay the bill.
Generous, loving, strong and kind
Blessed with an amazing mind
A ready smile on his face
He lived his life with such grace.
A hundred years filled with love
He still smiles from above.
And we know we're not apart
Because he's always in our heart.

Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn How Great Thou Art
O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
consider all the worlds thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
thy power throughout the universe displayed.

(refrain) Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
how great thou art, how great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee:
how great thou art, how great thou art!

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
and take me home, What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
and there proclaim, "My God, how great thou art." (refrain)

* Hymn Amazing Grace! How Sweet the Sound
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see.

Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come;
'tis grace that brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.

The Lord's Prayer (in unison) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

We are forever grateful to Lester for saving our children's lives. Elaine's 17-year long ear problem was cured by Lester's classmate and friend, Dr. Schuknecht. When Gary had the anal fistula problem during his first year of life, Lester was so caring to introduce us his another classmate who was the famous vascular surgeon in Boston. We are indebted to Lester for his kind, timely introduction to his friends. We were lucky to have spent a few days with Lester in 2013. We always remember him as a caring, loving, even-tempered, extremely intelligent and compassionate man. He was a good son, a good father, and a good husband. God bless you!

My condolences go out to family, friends and patients of Dr. Yee. My mother, Josephine V. Cabral was under Dr. Yee's care for many, many years prior to his retirement. Ditto on the comments made by my sister, Karen Cabral, regarding his joking around and the way he kept his filing system. I really didn't understand all the papers, but I'm sure he did. Since my mother past before him, guess he can still care for her in heaven. God Bless you, Dr. Yee.

Condolences to all...
Dr.Yee took care of my Mom "Josephine V. Cabral"(who passed 11/11/13)for many years. I use to take her to her office visits with him. He would always have that smile on his face and he would be joking around. I use to tell my mom "How could he find anything in his office with files piled up all over?" He could, his filing system might not have been the greatest but he knew where everything was at and he knew his patients. When he retired he asked Dr. Bert Wong to take care of my mom and he did. Dr. Yee will always be remembered by our family. He even took care of my Uncles (mom's brothers) "Peter P. Vincent" and "Antone Vincent"(passed 2013). We seen them at times in Dr. Yee's waiting room. Dr. Yee would come out of his office and joke around with them about "Hanabudda Days". Although we didn't see him after he retired. He still consulted with Dr. Bert Wong on my mom's care...
Aloha Oe to Such A Great Man..

Uncle Lester was a part of so many people's lives. I have very happy memories of him- his smile, the way his eyes light up, his laughter, and he always had a happy aura about him. As I grew older, I was in awe of his humility. He was a man of great learning and achievement, yet he was so low-key in his ways, so admirable. A man like Uncle Lester is rare. I am thankful and blessed to have known him.

I was saddened to hear of Uncle Lester's passing yet at the same time am reminded of fantastic memories of the Yee family being such gracious hosts to us when my parents would lug seven kids to Honolulu for the summer. To this day, Hawaii remains one of my favorite places in the world and that is due in large part to Uncle Lester, Auntie Winnie and the Yee clan.

Uncle Lester used to regale me with stories from his youth and I always enjoyed them. I particularly remember one time when he flew to the Philippines for one of my sister's wedding in the 90s and as we were chatting, he said you know the last time I was here I was with Gen. MacArthur. That of course impressed me to no end.

My deepest condolences to Auntie Winnie and the Yee family and my congratulations to Uncle Lester for the wonderful life that he lived and which no doubt continues through the many people he has touched during his time with us.

Thank you, Uncle Lester, for playing a part in all of those happy summers in Hawaii. I will always remember you for your wit and most of all, for your love for family.

Rest in peace, Uncle Lester, for now you are free.

Condolence Auntie Winnie, cousins Mike, Susan, Lorrin, Ellen and Arnold. I will truly miss Uncle Lester. I only have fond memories of him. We used to go to Hawaii during the summers when we were kids. We would be tired from the long flight from Manila but I always remember the warm welcome from Uncle Lester, Auntie Winnie and the family. We always felt at home. My mom would tell stories how some of Uncle Lester's patients could not pay him but they would give him fruits and food as payment. He was such a kindhearted man. I remember getting an allergic reaction around my lips after a long flight and Uncle Lester would give me an ointment that did the trick! I will always remember Uncle Lester's warm smile, aloha shirts and his daily swim. I will pray for you Uncle Lester and family.

I am forever indebted to my dear Uncle Lester. At age 6, requiring very serious and complicated ear surgery, Uncle Lester personally requested that his colleague, Dr. Harold F. Schuknecht, at the Harvard Medical School, take me on as his patient. Thanks to Uncle Lester, Dr. Schuknecht took the very best care of me and eventually cured me of my recurrent Mastoiditis and Cholesteatoma. Were it not for Uncle Lester being instrumental in my medical care, I might not be around today. I am eternally grateful to my dear Uncle Lester for his loving, caring and kind heart.
