Lewis Earl "Lew" Jones, 70, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away on March 12, 2024. He was born on October 31, 1953, in Monmouth, Illinois.

Lew enjoyed nature and the great outdoors. Whether he was casting a line into a stream, sitting by a campfire, wandering through the woods, caring for animals or just watching the silent stride of a deer and her fawns, he was content when immersed in these simple pleasures. He also had a passion for music and dedicated his life to sharing his beliefs as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, always striving to teach Bible truths.

Lewis was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Ruth Riley,stepfather , Robert Michael (Mike) Riley, and his grandson, Marcus Walsh.

His memory is held in the hearts of his wife, Leigh Ann Jones, of Knoxville, Illinois, his brothers, Fred Jones (Marsha) Jones of St. David, Illinois, Art Jones (Marcia) Jones of Lewistown, Illinois, Russell (Diana) Jones of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and lovingly remembered by his sisters Sher(Sis) (Ira) Bowersox of Bloomfield, Iowa, Bonnie (Gary) Jaeckle of Lakeview, Arkansas. His sons Jesse (Jana) Wolter of Austin, Texas, Jeremy (Heather) Jones of Lewistown, Illinois, Michael (Heather) Jones of Summerville, South Carolina, and step son Tyler Yarbrough of Galesburg, Illinois, and daughter, Angie Jones of Abingdon, Illinois. He is also survived by his grandsons, Blayne Jones of Ipava, Illinois, Payton Jones of Abingdon, Illinois, Dash, Lincoln, Vincent, and Axel Jones of Summerville, South Carolina and granddaughters Scarlet Wolter of Austin, Texas, Ashlynn Jones of Canton, Illinois, Katrina Schisler of Galesburg, Illinois, Kairi Jones of Summerville, South Carolina.

A service to celebrate Lew's life will be held on April 6th at 3:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Galesburg, Illinois. He held dear being one of Jehovah's Witnesses and to share Bible truths with others.

Lew leaves behind more than memories. He imparts a legacy of joy and positivity that will ripple through time.

So sorry to hear this, Lewis was always a joy to be around... I'll never forget the cover band days in his machine shed, just hanging out with the horses & like minded musicians, definitely a defining moment in my life and memories I'll always cherish.
