Lila Pearce-Pawlowski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 5, 2008.
CAMERON, Mo. - Lila J. Pearce-Pawlowski, Cameron, formerly St. Joseph, was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Mirabile, Mo. She died March 4, 2008.
She was graduated from Princeton (Mo.) High School.
Lila married Larry Pawlowski on July 12, 1947, and had 44 wonderful years of happiness together until his death in 1991. Everyone that knew them knew they were inseparable.
Lila worked as chief deputy for the Buchanan County Highway Department, retiring after 29 years of service.
She received an award from the Missouri Association of Commissioners for length of service and outstanding ability.
She and her husband were co-instructors for the Co Co Mo's Round Dance Club and also danced with the Kalico Kickers Dance Club. She and Larry were known for their performances throughout the area.
Lila's love of dance never left. She continued to dance for people on her own even after Larry's death. She continued to make others happy by doing this, but those that knew her best always knew something was missing. That something was her inseparable partner, Larry.
It comforts her family at this time to know that Larry has her hand and they're dancing together again.
Lila will be extremely missed by her friends and children whom she would do anything for and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved unjudgemently and unconditionally. They could do no wrong in her eyes and she loved to spoil them.
Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Pawlowski; her mother and father, Mary and Ross Pearce; and brother, Jimmy Pearce.
She is survived by daughters, Paula Pierce; Cheryl Jensen; Kim Bigham, and husband, Steve; and son, Kevin Pawlowski, and wife, Bobbi. There are also five grandchildren, Darcee Blanchard, and husband, Jeremy; Jabin Bigham, and wife, Jenny; Bronyn Bigham; Trynon Bigham and Courtney Jensen; five great-grandchildren, Kazdyn, Ravyn and Krimzym Blanchard, and Tabor and Kruz Bigham; and half sister, Lisa Pearce.
A private graveside service will be held in Cameron for immediate family. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Open Door Food Kitchen in St. Joseph.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

No one can take the place of a devoted mother and grandmother. Our words can bring only slight comfort when your grief is so great, but I did want you to know that we extend our deepest sympathy.
