Thompson, Lillian 6/25/1932 - 4/23/2020 Muskegon Lillian Maree Thompson (Ross), age 87 of Muskegon, MI, passed away peacefully on April 23rd ,2020 in Muskegon, MI. Lillian was born in Minden, LA to Luther Ross and Ella Kay Henderson on June 25th, 1932. She married John Davis Thompson on October 20th, 1955. She was employed by Mercy Hospital for over 40 years as a food service worker. During her tenure she served as Chief Union Steward for the local UAW, and SEIU. She was a member of the NAACP Detroit Chapter. Lillian spent many of years and countless hours making sure that her fellow co-workers received fair treatment She was an original Freedom Fighter. Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Thompson, and beloved daughters, Gail Denise Mayes (Thompson) and daughter Elsie Ross. Lillian is survived by her children: Doris Jamison (Jimmy Lee), John D. Thompson Jr. (Rhonda), Donald, and Ray Thompson, Sharon Gay (Benjamin), Victoria Tartt, Vanessa, Karen, Alvin, Johnny and Tamessa Thompson, and Teresa Ackerberg. She is also survived by a host of Grand, Great and Great Great grandchildren Visitation will be from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Friday, May 1st, 2020 at Fountain Funeral Home located at 1765 Peck St, Muskegon, MI. A short graveside service will take place immediately following the visitation at "The Garden of Love" at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 2188 Remembrance Dr., Muskegon, MI. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to host a traditional service to acknowledge and greet all our mothers loved ones and special friends. We will be celebrating Lillian's life on Saturday, June 27th, 2020. More information will follow Fountain Funeral Home located at 1765 Peck St, Muskegon, MI.
