Linda Ballina Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 19, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Linda Jean Ballina It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Linda passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on March 15th, 2025 at the age of 63 after a long and hard battle with CADASIL.

Born on April 15th,1961 to Frank and Jeanette Pontious as the youngest of her siblings, Brenda and Greggory. From the beginning Linda loved spending time with her family, including her Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Linda graduated from Mattawan High School and went on to pursue her nursing degree from KVCC. She enjoyed many years as a dedicated nurse, pouring her heart into the care of others.

Linda brought light and joy to everyone she met.

A devoted wife to Steve Ballina, her love and partnership were the foundation of a beautiful life together. Linda was a proud and caring mother to Stephanie (Carl), Ashley (Rocco), and Tyler (Heather), as well as a cherished grandmother to Jeremiah and Lillian, always their greatest supporter and source of unconditional love.

Linda's legacy is one of kindness, strength, dedication and unwavering faith. She continued serving and praying for her friends and family until the very end. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on March 29th, 2025 at the American Legion (9054 E Veterans Pkwy Yorkville, IL 60560) from 2-5pm with a brief service at 3pm, followed by a time of sharing. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to Cure CADASIL Association www.curecadasil.org/donate-to-cure-cadasil to help fund vital research for a cure for this devastating genetic disease, which claimed Linda's life, has impacted many in her family, and continues to affect her children and future generations.

Linda was a woman of God and impacted so many. She watched my son Tyler Kairis for a time after school. It´s been quite a while since I´ve been in touch but I can say she will be in the heavenly realm. I send my deepest condolences to the entire family. Many memories of Linda encouraging me through some tough things.

We celebrate her faithfulness and service to others. She served in so many ways, but we especially remember the teen events the Ballinas hosted that Gayle and Ryan attended. We will keep her close in our hearts.
