Linda Banks Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 29, 2025.
Linda Kay Banks, 76, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on March 26, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on January 22, 1949, to Viola M. (Bandor) and Neil O. Blauvelt, Linda graduated from South Side High School in 1967. In 1970, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard Campos, and soon embraced motherhood with love and dedication. Though their marriage ended in 1976, Linda and Richard later shared a genuine friendship.

In 1990, Linda married the love of her life, Nathaniel H. Banks Jr., with whom she shared over 25 years of courtship and marriage until his passing. Throughout her career, she worked for several companies including GTE, ITT, Magnavox, and ultimately retired from BAE Systems in 2011.

Linda had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She loved to dance and enjoyed live music from her favorite local bands. Her laughter was unmistakable and infectious, and her sharp wit brought joy to those around her. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends, known for her openness and heartfelt expressions of love.

And if you know, you know, "Bye, Felicia!"

She is survived by her daughters MaiLin (Todd) Johnson of Springfield, OH, and Chandra Reichert (Shane Armstrong) of Fort Wayne, IN; stepson Nathaniel (Felicia) Banks III and stepdaughter Nicole (Timmy) Ford, both of Fishers, IN; grandchildren Chanel (Adalberto) Palacios, Isaiah Johnson, Kyle Reichert (Natalie), Austin Reichert, Lia Armstrong; step-grandchildren Brenndon "JB" (Yvonne) Adkins, Timothy (Janelle) Ford, Christopher Ford, Brooklyn Banks, and Zian Wright; five great-grandchildren; sisters Judith (James) Tracey and Cynthia (John) Pattison; several beloved nieces and nephews; and former husband Richard Campos.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Gary Blauvelt; and husband Nathaniel H. Banks Jr.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.

We met Linda through our mutual love of music and dancing. We often enjoyed her company at the Fort Wayne American Legions as well as other music clubs in Fort Wayne. Linda was a very nice lady, very wise, and very interesting to talk with. She would often save us a seat at the Legion and we had great conversations and great fun dancing. Our deepest condolences to her family and many friends. We will miss her very much! R.I.P Linda.

The Soltesz family had fun while living in California when Blavelts you came to visit us. Linda was probably one of the first pen pals I had. Although we never had the opportunity to live nearby and visit regularly, her kind heart, loving nature and great sense of humor will always be remembered. We are so sorry for her loss and send our deepest sympathy to her family and loved ones.

My dearest Linda, we met a few years ago at Coyote Creek and ever since then we´ve had so many conversations on the phone and time spent out at many different places with you & you always loved to Dance your heart out. Chris Worth was a favorite as well as We are Checkmark Band, I think You were their biggest Fan. You were always so fun when we went out to different places and you introduced me to so many people. Especially at the Legion 148. Sorry I was always so shy to dance, but you never had any problem finding a person to dance with. Especially when your Sister Judy was with you, you both danced to about every song I think. But know I sure will miss you and always will til I see you in Heaven someday. I´m sure you´re dancing in Heaven already and free from any & all pain. R.I.H. Linda

My dear sister...loved beyond what words can express. I have so many memories with her and I will fiercely protect them as long as I live! Saying she will be sorely missed is a gross understatement. But to quote her, I say with a broken heart and a smile on my face, "Bye, Felicia".
