Linda Crutcher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 19, 2022.
Linda L. Crutcher, age 70, a resident of Roseburg, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2022. She was born April 30, 1951, to Rex and Evelyn Southwick in Enterprise, Oregon.

Linda spent most of her childhood growing up in Eugene, eventually moving to Roseburg in 1969. There she met Rusty Crutcher, whom she married on June 8, 1976. She had an intense love for animals, fishing, camping, and taking trips to the coast or to the mountains. Known for her sense of humor (a deep-seated family trait), she was always quick with a joke of varying degrees of appropriateness that consistently left those around her chuckling. She was also known to chat up anyone she encountered and offer help wherever needed, which included volunteer work at the SPCA Thrift Shop earlier in her life, and more recently at the Roseburg Community Cancer Center.

A staunch supporter of her husband and children, Linda was always eager to share their latest exploits and show off pictures of her grandchildren. She was not one to withhold her opinion on any given topic, much to the relief of some and the befuddlement of others. She also enjoyed confusing her husband with her frequency of talking to herself. She will be most fondly remembered for her laughter, her loyalty, and her strength.

Linda is survived by her husband of 45 years, Rusty, her stepson, Russell Crutcher Jr, her daughter, Shawna Hooke, two grandchildren, Jarin and Kaley, her sister, Rosalie Metsker, and nine nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Evelyn Southwick, and her two brothers, Gary Southwick and Danny Southwick.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 1 PM at Roseburg National Cemetery, 913 NW Garden Valley Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Community Cancer Center in memory of Linda Crutcher.
