LINDA J. GIEL

Born: Oct. 15, 1950; in Ottawa

Died: Feb. 2, 2008; in Arlington Heights

She was an elementary schoolteacher for District 59 in Elk Grove Village



CARY - Linda J. Giel, 57, of Cary, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.

She was born Oct. 15, 1950, in Ottawa, to Richard and Lois (Terry) Saar.

She was an elementary schoolteacher for District 59 in Elk Grove Village.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Giel, whom she married Dec. 29, 1973, in Ottawa; two children, Jon Giel and Kristen Giel, both of Cary; a brother, Chris (Sue) Saar of Ottawa; three sisters, Susan (John) Ottawa, Alicia (Jay) Sesto of Ottawa and Janice (Don) Langlois of Wausau, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robin Saar; and her mother-in-law, Phyllis Giel.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Road, Cary.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at funeral home. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, DMUC Box 3624, Durham, N.C. 27710.
