Please excuse the tardiness of my response but I only recently learned of Linda's untimely passing. Oddly, after more than twenty years, she was in one of my dreams so, out of curiosity, I googled her name and discovered this obituary. I am uncertain whether you will even see my comments but I thought that I owed it to Linda to try since she was once a dear friend and even saved my life on one fateful day. Linda and I were best friends in grade 12 and during our undergraduate years at the U of A. I have many fond memories of going on camping trips with her to Pembina and Wood Buffalo Park (where we were extorted by a skunk), attending high school grad, our first attempt at independent living in a rental basement suite, studying together as fearful freshwomen (unlike I, she had a knack for math), singing to Michael's guitar and of her developing cooking talents (Pierogi for me, as I am Ukrainian, and over the camp fire). She was even first introduced to Michael through my former boyfriend, who was a roommate.
I recall Linda being one of the most hardworking and determined people I have ever known which I see paid off greatly in her chosen career path. I chuckled when I read about her specialization in botany because I ultimately became an ultra-avid gardener myself; something neither of us had any interest in at the time. Most importantly, however, Linda was a kind, helpful and loving individual who put the interests of others in front of her own interests. I am truly saddened by your loss and would be happy to share copies of a few pictures that I have of Linda from the 80's when she was truly vibrant.

If we are made of star dust, then Linda came from a supernova. She was bright, vibrant and exceptional. I will miss her greatly.

Very tragic for this loss of life being relatively young and vital with so much more to do. I have always been in awe of her strength and completeness of personality. In all that she accomplished, I am priviledged to have been loved by her.
I will always love Alex and Megan and see them through as best I can.
When I see and walk in mountains, I will think of her, when I see and walk amongst forests, I will think of her, when I am in that kind of nature, I will think of her. And when I look at Megan and Dylan I will be with her.
