Linda Kay McLaughlin (née Read), aged 63, passed away on October 16, 2024, in Taylorsville, Utah. Born on April 7, 1961, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Linda grew into a generous, loving, funny, kind, and caring person, touching the lives of many who knew her.

Linda attended Plymouth Elementary and graduated from Cottonwood High School, laying the foundations for a life full of love and laughter. She married Craig McLaughlin, and together they raised their sons, JJ Heidt (Julie), Michael (Liz) and a cherished grandmother to four grandsons, one granddaughter and a beloved sister to Edwin Michael (Karee), Carl (Helen), William, Sally Ipson (Dan), and Donna Winkler (Ryan).

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Read Jr., her mother, Kathryn Hale Read, and her sister, Joyce Fay Read.

A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Linda lived and shared her warmth with her community. Her hobbies included joyous trips to Wendover where she loved playing the slots, a pastime that brought her great pleasure and excitement.

Linda's family will honor her memory by spreading her ashes in Wendover, a place that held many fond memories for her. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal memorial service.

Linda's life exemplified compassion and joy, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit and enduring kindness.
