Linda Palumbo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 7, 2018.
It is with heavy hearts the Palumbo family announces that Sekiu has bid farewell to it's resident mermaid.

Linda Palumbo, passed away on July 12, 2018 from complications following a massive stroke in September 2017.

Linda was born November 5, 1952, the second child to David and Margaret Palumbo of Seattle, Washington.

As the long standing owner of the Straitside Resort in Sekiu, Linda was best known and loved for her vivacious personality, her huge heart, her love of fishing and the outdoors.

Linda was an active member of the Clallam Bay/Sekiu Chamber of Commerce and a huge supporter of her Clallam Bay/Sekiu community and events; her contributions to the annual CB/Sekiu Fundays auction fundraiser will be greatly missed.

She loved spending her spring through summer months in Sekiu each year, devoting her time spent with friends to beachcombing, fishing, exploring nature, and living life to it's fullest each moment.

She looked forward to preserving the area's natural bounties each year with canning jam and producing her specialty Sekiu Cellars wine.

Fall would find her flying south to spend her winter days doing much the same beneath the Mexican sun.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, David Palumbo, and is survived by her Mother, Margaret Palumbo of Tacoma, Washington, Brother Steven of Evans, Washington, Brother Ric of Clallam Bay, as well as two nephews and a niece, and her beloved canine companion, Birdette.

Friends and family are invited to remember her bright smile in a day of peace at the beach east of Mason's campground at 4 p.m. Sat. Oct 6. Potluck dishes and pictures of your favorite memory of Linda are greatly appreciated.

The Palumbo Family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all who loved and supported Linda and the family through this most difficult year.

It´s been since Seahurst JR High days that I have seen you. I was just thinking about you and your brother Steve so I googled your name and there you were. I recognize that smile immediately so sorry you´re gone. Would have love to connect and converse about our journeys in life. Looks like you did pretty good so happy for you. Sincerely, Susan Dowell.

Linda and I became friends in 1995 when my husband and I stayed in one of her units while he was working out on the mainline. She was an amazing person . She worked as hard as a man on her motel and rain or shine she was out doing what needed to be done. She told me manystories about her adventures in Alaska and we both loved and enjoyed her beautiful dog.She had many breakfasts with me and we always enjoyed each others company. Was I ever surprised the last time I saw her.She was a blonde. Still and always had that wonderful personality. Loved her dearly. May the family find comfort in the fact that she will always be with you in your heart. My sympathy.
