Linda Sauer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 2, 2025.
Linda Pauline "Nanny" Sauer, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Bradenton, Florida. Born on July 14, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, she lived a life marked by deep devotion to her family and a generous spirit.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lloyd Sauer and the cherished mother of ten children: Victoria Persails (Wayne), Bonnie Dianamarie Sauer, Gina Sauer (Wright) (Brian), Donald Sauer (Karen), Robert Sauer II, Debra Scholl, Brenda Gibson (Steve), Lori Peck, and the late Steven Sauer. Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren: Michael Persails (Christina), Amanda Tiemer (Mike), Sarah Dedona (Joseph), Dakota (Meredith), Shelby Persails, Hayden Sauer, Reagan Pitts (Christian), Madelyn Benefiel (Steven), Gehrig Wright, Robert Sauer III, Eric Sauer (Tiffany), Aaron Sauer, Jamie Sauer, Robert Scholl, Ashley Plett (Dillon), Kristine (Eric), Jenny (Todd), Randy Peck, and Nick Peck, Joshua Sauer, and Stephanie Sauer. She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren.

Linda was one of ten siblings and is lovingly remembered by Lottie Church; Corinna Harshaw (Bob); Brenda Ferguson; Martha Jensen; Floy Rondo; Debra Hagon (Chet); Kathy Chapelo (John); John Crump (Cheryl); and Cherrie Kennedy (Phil). She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edgar Crump and Daisy Bonnie Sandefer; her son Steven Sauer; and Eddie Hull Crump.

Linda found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed puzzles, romance novels, rummage sales, occasional visits to the Hard Rock Casino, going on cruises with her family and spending time with all of her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She generously gave her time to MOTS-an organization close to her heart-and shared many years with her loyal dog Louie. She had many special friends that she held dear to her heart including Linda Craig, Alice Jane Berry, Benjamin McCluskey, Paul and Maleah Howard, Michelle Ortega, and Becky Hurst.

Her warmth and compassion touched many lives. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Cancer Center of Sarasota & Manatee 3830 Bee Ridge Road Suite 301 Sarasota, FL 34233 in memoriam of Linda Sauer.

Although my heart is heavy with sorrow as I share in your grief during this most difficult time, I will always cherish and forever hold in my heart the kindness and warmth she showed me. Her love and example will live on in all of us who were blessed enough to know her. May you rest in peace and happiness, Linda.

I remember Linda as mom Sauer my 2nd mom growing up with her children down the street on Bristol Rd. Such fond memory's and that crazy van she'd take us all in to Lincoln Park to swim all day! Just lived there seems most of my growing up! Diane and Gina my best friends. We'd always share what we were going to be when we grew up. Lol seems like yesterday. Ahhh such great memories and some of my best years were spent with this family. My heart breaks for your deep loss, may the angels bring you all comfort during these difficult days. Love to you all Fawn Coyer (Henke) and family.
