James & family,
I did not know Linda but I was hoping to share some words of comfort. It's never easy to lose someone you love. God promises us that we will see our loved ones again in the very near future. Take comfort in knowing that you will see Linda again as well. Until then may your hearts be filled with the wonderful memories of joyful times spent together as you celebrate a life well lived. Please accept my condolences.

My heart is so heavy,20 years ago you came into my life and you and buster took me in as one of t
Your own. All the fun times we had together I will cherish for a life time, I will miss that beautiful smile and that contagious laugh. You never passed judgement on anyone and always welcomed with open arms. I'm just sorry we did t get more time together make all the goodies we would make together (yes those peanut butter balls) the BEST ever!! And putting up that crazy fruit tree for Christmas, that I know Jaime and I teased you for months about. But you knew it was all out of love! There are so many more memories I have of you, so I won't tell everyone all of them lol. I'll see you again until then I will love and miss you always. Xoxoxo

I was more than shocked to here that Linda was so sick & had passed. I am also a childhood friend that grew up with Linda on Mike Road in Richmond, VA. I used to love going over to her house because her dad had a sweet tooth so there was always a piece of cake or some kind of goodie in the house. I also remember how they loved animals....guinee pigs, rabbits, & pigeons! And I loved Linda's player piano....so fun. Last time I saw Linda was when she came to my brother Bobby's 50 Birthday....came all the way from Richmond to Wilmington,NC......my baby brother was so surprised.....I know she will be missed and am praying for her family. God Bless!

I met Linda when we worked at Wheat First Securities many years ago. We became fast friends and shared many good times, laughs, tears and happiness. She was a gentle, kind soul with a wicked sense of humor that I loved. Her jokes always made me laugh until I cried! I have many fond memories of her, Pat Carpin, Ann Mull, Johnny and Debbie Hughes, and all of her family. Linda will forever live in my heart. Condolences to her family for their loss. May Peace always be with you all.

Linda was first my co-worker. She was the best receptionist at F A Davis. She never lost her cool even when things were busy and all those phone lines lite up.
She also liked to p!ay match maker. She introduced me to her nephew Johnny and after 20 years in June we are still together. Thank you Linda. We owe her for our son Phillip coming to be. We stayed in touch many years after we stopped being co-workers. I have missed our get together dinners many years now. Loved going with Linda to the Bahamas. She loved to go, but when it was time to go she could not wait to get home to see Buster and Jaime and plan our next trip. I have many happy hours with Linda. She loved to host the best Thanksgiving meals I ever had the pleasure of sharing. She liked to dance and tell those jokes. She could make you laugh even if she was not feeling the best herself. She was a lady with class who doted on her family and we will all miss her terribly.

It is with a really heavy heart I'm writing this. We had the great pleasure of meeting this wonderful family in N.I and then again in the states. They are easily the most genuine , lovely caring family we have ever met. Linda was bubbly, kind , thoughtful and absolutely beautiful on the outside and inside . She loved her family deeply and instantly made you feel a part of her family . Heaven has definetlty gained an angel. Our thoughts and prayers are with Buster, Jamie and Family , god bless you all.

Linda and I grew up in the same neighborhood, shared the same birthday (February 12, 1951) and were life-long friends. She always teased me that she was five hours older than me and never let me forget it. We attended the same schools (Summer Hill Elementary, Bainbridge Jr. High, and George Wythe High School), graduated together, attended some of our high school reunions together, and visited with one another 4-5 times a year during our 58 year friendship. She was a cat-bird and had a happy-go-lucky attitude and always had a good joke to share. We always celebrated our birthdays together and enjoyed annual Christmas visits at my sister's house in Richmond. She made the best pecan and walnut fudge around, and always made a batch for my sister and me every Christmas. Linda was more like a sister from another mother than just my BFF. My heart is broken at the loss of this cherished friendship, but I also rejoice in knowing that I will one day see her again in Heaven, in a new body free of pain. Buster, Jaime, Curtis, Doodlebug, and Tristan - my prayers are with you during this most difficult time. Linda was a wonderful, devoted wife and mother and adored her two grandchildren. Jaime, you were always the light of her life, and she was so very proud of you and all that you have accomplished in life. And to my good friend, Linda Hughes Tate, "It's not goodbye, it's just goodbye for now." With love and prayers, Sandy Briles
