Lisa Engen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 16, 2025.

Lisa Marie Engen (Pogreba), age 63, passed away on April 11, 2025, in Anoka, Minnesota. Born on October 17, 1961, in Browerville, Minnesota, Lisa lived a life marked by creativity, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of everyday living.

Lisa was the beloved daughter of Lorraine Pogreba and the late Robert Pogreba. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family that shaped her generous spirit and enduring sense of connection. Throughout her life, Lisa remained close to her siblings: Janet (Barry) Bowen of Ramsey; Colette Anderson of Sauk Rapids; Jim (Marilyn) Pogreba of Cushing; Dave (Karen) Pogreba of Cushing; Mike Pogreba of Waverly, Tennessee; Lynnae Pogreba of Staples; and Tami (Patrick) Altrichter of Cushing.

Lisa shared more than three decades of love and partnership with her husband Todd. Together they built a life filled with music and dancing-two passions that brought them joy and strengthened their bond over the years. Their home was one where melodies often played in the background and where laughter echoed through rooms lovingly decorated with Lisa's refinished furniture pieces.

A devoted mother, Lisa adored her only son Eric Phipps. Her love extended warmly to her step-son Kyle and to her five cherished grandchildren: Jade, Arayanna, Anthony, Alexis, and Tyler. She found immense joy in their presence and loved them unconditionally.

Lisa had a remarkable talent for music and was an enthusiastic pianist. Her passion for melody was matched by her creative hands-she enjoyed crocheting intricate patterns and had a unique knack for taking things apart just to understand how they worked. Refinishing furniture became one of her favorite pastimes-a reflection of both her artistic eye and meticulous attention to detail.

Those who knew Lisa will remember her as someone who found beauty in the small things. Whether it was a quiet moment at the piano or the satisfaction of restoring a worn piece of furniture.

I had the privilege of working with Lisa at Heathers Manor in Crystal, MN. She was very hardworking, and very caring. She respected all the residents and truly cared about them and their needs. Lisa will be deeply missed by all of us at Heathers Manor and our hearts go out to Lisa's family and friends. It was an honor to know Lisa and I will always cherish our short time together and getting to know her. Lisa had a heart of gold and even with all she was going through, she worked through it all and is truly an inspiration and a fighter. Lisa, we love you!

Lisa was a very dear person, she was kind, respectful and sweet to everyone she came in contact with. I've know her for more than a year, her humbleness is a blessing to many. I am so sad to hear this sad news of her passing.

Lisa will be miss be by many of her friend. May her beautiful soul sleep on.
