On your 3rd anniversary with the Angels in Heaven, I was in hospital, having a bone marrow transplant of my own. I thought every single day of you and what you went through with your own, all those years ago, and how much I wished I could talk to you during mine. Just one more BIG thing we had in common.
I felt your presence a lot while I was in the hospital and it always made me smile and feel that things were going to be okay. I just love and miss you so much. Sleep in sweet peace.

My level of grief is almost inexplicable and is tempered only by the sense of relief that I have knowing that she is no longer in pain and will never have to be afraid again.
Lisa will always be the sister that I chose in this life.
The adventures that we had (back the day) bring some the warmest & best of memories that I have.
I will never forget her reaction when (after she called to say that she wished that I could be there to celebrate her 50th, but I said it was impossible) I drove straight through from Florida and sat at the table right next to hers at the Seacrest diner, just to surprise her. We packed a LOT of laughs, memories and visiting time into my 36hr stay.
Distance in miles and the passage of time had absolutely no power over the beautiful bond that we shared for 40+yrs.
I’m a far better person just for knowing her.
Until my last breath, I will miss the sound of her voice, the generosity of her warm spirit, the adventurous spirit she had, the sincerity of her always supportive words and the beautiful soul that was my most treasured friend on this earth, Lisa Kurtz.
May God forever rest her sweet soul. May he touch the shattered hearts of her beloved Noelle and Norman, as well as Claire, Susan and the boys with comfort and healing.
Sleep well, my sweet sister.
I love you.
